Screen Shot 2014-04-16 at 11.33.29 amSenior classroom teachers (Year 4 to 6) are now using the Mac App Readkit on their laptops to manage their students individual blogs. This affordable little tool allows you to see every blog post from every student and to link to their blogs to post formative assessment and comments. It not only saves time but has a very streamline user friendly interface.

Wonderful Women’s Beards – Year 5/6

LEARNING INTENTIONS :

Learners were required to script and create an advertisement of an unusual product of their creation. They were required to use the characteristics of an effective advertisement as part of their production, effective editing and a variety of software tools. The script had to use a variety of advertising techniques, and the advertisement needed to be edited in a way that was catchy and interesting to potential viewers.

PROCESS OF THE PROJECT : (From the creators)
Ella came up with the idea of women beards. First we had to come up with the different types of beards we would have. We both wrote the script.  Holly came up with the idea of green screening for the bathroom. We had a lot of fun together while doing this.  We learnt that  sometimes things don’t go as you planned, so you might have to just change something to fit in with whatever problems we have.  We also learnt how to green screen.

Students used iMovie, and a variety of iPad apps.

Hip Hop Girls – Year 5/6

LEARNING INTENTIONS :
Learners were challenged to create and choreograph a dance in a compelling way to a music video. This group created the dance independently, and used a variety of tools on the iPad and Mac to create their project as well as develop self management, and group work problem solving skills.

PROCESS OF THE PROJECT :
We all wanted to do a music video so we grouped together and came up with a hip hop theme. We also work really hard and worked together with our  strengths. Rylee and Chanelle choreographed the dance since they have experience in Hip Hop, and Medea learnt new moves since she is more of a gymnast then a Hip Hop dancer. We used different tools on iPad and Mac, and overcame some big challenges (especially since we filmed on a camera and had to get it from the camera to iPad and to the mac again).
